A beautiful timeless classic going by the name of ‘Hidcote Sand’ is the star of the show in one of our latest custom made installations.
These stunning full length drapes mounted behind a simple wooden pelmet were made for Mrs E. of Butterton, Staffs. Her choice of fabric empathizes perfectly with the surrounding decor, the period style of the house and the enviable shape and proportions of this beautiful full-length walk-in bay window.
The same fabric has been used in the dining room bay window (shown below), in a way that is again sympathetic to the shape and architectural features of the window; and the beautiful eye-catching arch has purposely not been hidden by the addition of a pelmet, to allow the original features of the house and window to be seen.
Mrs E. has emphasized the arch to best effect by using a classic style wallpaper above another original feature, which is the picture rail. The bold pattern not only shows off the bottom edge of the arch perfectly, but provides a stylish link to the classic design in the curtain fabric as well.
As a final touch she has added classic rope tie-backs to each pair of curtains to form the luxurious amount of fabric in each curtain into neatly formed pleats; and, to add some shape to the leading edges as well as helping to keep such a volume of fabric off the window area to allow maximum light to filter into the room.
Hidcote Sand is a beautifully detailed woven jacquard in a subdued and neutral colour palette. Its weight, quality and design suit the colour scheme of this room and its window perfectly; but take a quick look at the other delicious colours available in this period design for some more classic inspiration!
